For those who live in the AZ valley don’t you just love it when the second a rain drop hits the ground during the summer months it’s…. ARIZONA MONSOON | 2010 broadcasted on every single channel. Then there is Freddy the Forecaster standing outside in a puddle on the sidewalk testifying to the fact that IT IS actually raining by showing you a zoomed in close up of the rain drops forming on his hands.
I don’t think that will ever get old…it cracks me up every year. Any whooo, we had a pretty decent storm roll through here this past Saturday (I think this summer has been very mild as for as storms go) and it came and went so quickly that I wasn’t able to get any photos of it these amazing cloud formations around my neighborhood. So, we piled all the kids in the car and with the Mr. operating the wheel and I with camera in hand we set out to do our own little version of storm chasing.
We didn’t have to go too far before we stopped at a scenic point just before Canyon Lake. It was at this look out point where we watched a sweet lightning show and for the first time ever I was able to get some awesome strikes caught on camera.
We started out with quite a bit of light from the day, but it quickly became dark and the lightning was even better…
(oh yeah, and I’ve added all the geeky photo specs for any photogs out there)
